Vibe Coding

I've been dipping my toes into the world of AI and using it to build actual things. Here's a couple of web-based applications I actually use on a regular basis. Both were made with Claude Code and both took ~1 hour apiece to build.

First, a CTA train tracker that finds all the Chicago Transit options within a radius of you and the buses/trains arriving soon, sorted by their time of arrival.

Second, a USPS mailbox finder that finds all the blue dropboxes within a radius and sorts by their soonest pick-up times.

Chimney Breast Project

Stuck in the depths of the 2020 pandemic, I decided to renovate my chimney breast and make my living room a little warmer.

Random Quote Generator

I made a quote generator and randomly displays one of my favorite quotes. It's a good morale-booster when I need some inspiration or just a good laugh.

Unofficial NFL World Champion

What if the NFL decided their champions like heavyweight boxing does? Every time the champion takes the field, the championship is on the line. And the winner of that game gets to move forward as the undisputed NFL champion. Here's how the last ~95 years of football would look under that system.

PC/Caller ID convergence

Years ago, my senior design project landed me in the ECE 445 Hall of Fame. Back when landlines ruled the earth, we built an intelligent call routing system that could route phone calls to certain phones within a house depending on the incoming Caller ID information. We were rewarded with the 'Best Engineered' project award for our effort. (Select the 'Fall 2001' term when you click the link)
